Wealden Woodturners

Wealden Woodturners are a small group of amateur and professional woodturners who meet once a month, (usually the third Sunday).

Meetings normally follow one of three formats:-

  • 'Hands on' sessions using the six club lathes
  • Invited turners demonstrating their skills
  • Competitions / Social days when partners are invited

Particular attention is paid to ensuring that novices receive the necessary tuition. Some members join before they even buy any equipment at all and seek advice on intended purchases.

Membership is kept to around 40 so as to maintain a personal and friendly atomosphere, (by the way, some of our best turners are women).
